Quarantined, vetted, socialized pups need rescue/adoption

UPDATE!! HOORAY!!! The puppies have been invited to go to a wonderful rescue in CT!! YAY! for the puppies!!  Now they just need a little help with bus fare to be on their way

http://castawaycritterspetrescue.chipin.com/litter-of-8-puppies-heading-to-ct

UPDATE!! All 8 puppies are also spayed and neutered. They are so incredibly adorable and sweet, we are not sure why no one has shown any interest in them.

A few weeks ago a good friend of Castaway Critters Pet Rescue (CCPR) asked us if we could possibly foster a litter of 8 lab mix puppies.  We did not hesitate to say yes as the friend has always been willing to help us when it was needed.  We were told the pups only needed 2 weeks and then they were headed to a rescue in MD.  We could do two weeks.  Well, that was 7 (yes 7) weeks ago.  The rescue kept saying next week, next week and finally said nope, sorry we are not taking the puppies. We will not get into that here. It is very upsetting to our friend, because, like us, she never pulls dogs or cats without a confirmed rescue or adopter in place.

The puppies are so incredibly sweet but they are just not getting adopted in GA so we are asking for rescues or adopters from other areas to please, please consider these sweet babies. They are 12.5 weeks and have had 3 rounds of shots and have been dewormed twice. They are socialized and loving.  They would love to be in their forever homes for Christmas.  There is a transport available and it is leaving Friday Dec 3 to arrive in the Northeast on Saturday Dec 4th.  If you are interested in rescuing or adopting one of these adorable pups please email us at castawaycritterrescue@gmail.com

Senior Dog Cocoa needs help in Inverness FL

COCOA WAS ADOPTED!!!!

Cocoa is an 11 yr old Golden Retriever, Lab mix whose previous family decided she was not wanted any longer so they dumped her at a high kill shelter in Inverness, FL. Cocoa is not sure why she was thrown away like yesterday's news as she knows she is a good dog, with very nice manners. This is what we were told about Cocoa:

"She’s sweet, she’s in great condition, she stays by your side, listens well to commands, others dogs don’t bother her and she’s fine with them."

Every dog who walks through the door is only given a short amount of time to find their new family or a rescue. So instead of Cocoa spending her senior years with her family she is now on death row praying for a new family to see that she has so much love to give.

Please know this shelter will euthanize Cocoa if she is not adopted or rescued. If you want to help her please do not waste a minute-please let us know or the shelter know ASAP.

If you can help Cocoa please email us at castawaycrittersrescue@gmail.com or  Tweet us @CastawayCritter or message us on Face Book http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/pages/Blairsville-GA/Castaway-Critters-Pet-Rescue/144794158865801

Stretch, Sherwood and Ripley want to escape the shelter in Henry Co GA

UPDATE! October 5th The boys went to be neutered and vetted today (The vets are very busy so today is the first appt we could get) Everyone is HW- YAY!! woohoo! however :( Sherwood has ringworm. Since Sherwood was already neutered he was dipped today to help him on his way to being cured. Stretch is still fighting something as he was sneezing and his one eye was a tad bit goopy. Feel better soon Stretch!! Sherwood, Ripley and Stretch have all be housed together at their foster home so we will be treating all of them for ring worm as a precaution. It will be a few days though as the vet would like Stretch to feel better first and we agree 100%. That is about it for today, updates will be posted here, as we receive them.

UPDATE!! All the funds have been raised for Sherwood, Ripley and Stretch!! THANK-YOU!! to everyone who donated, sent good wishes, prayed, thought positive thoughts and cared about these boys. We can not do what we do without all of you, we appreciate all of you!! Thanks to all of you the dogs have a second chance at a happy life. THANK-YOU!

WOOHOO!! Only $75 to go to for Sherwood, Ripley and Stretch. THANK-YOU!! to everyone who has donated to them. We are very appreciative as are they :):)

UPDATE!! Stretch, Ripley and Sherwood are all out of the shelters and doing well. Ripley was given some wet food that he thoroughly enjoyed with gusto.YAY!! Even though they are safely out of the shelter they still need $125 to make sure they can get to their NY rescue, can be vetted, NEUTERED, HW tested and deflea'd. Please consider making a donation to the three boys. IF 25 people donated $5 they would hvae all their funds. THANK-YOU!! to everyone who has donated, tweeted, retweeted, posted and shared and sent good thoughts, prayers and positive thoughts, we could not do what we do without all of you!!!!

Stretch, Ripley and Sherwood are not doing well at Henry County Animal Control in McDonough GA.They
are scared and nervous. As we have stated before Castaway Critters Pet Rescue is beyond full so we could not help these little guys directly. However, a rescue friend of ours in NY said she has a foster home for little guys. With a little help from a GA rescue friend we can save them. Each dog needs $250 to pay their bills ( HW tests, transport, neuter, vaccinations and quarantine)

We are blessed to have a generous donor who has offered a MATCHING DONATION CHALLENGE!! Instead of needing $750 we only need$375 to get the three dogs out of the shelter and to safety because every donation will be matched. If you donate $5 it will equal $10 $25 equals $50and so on WOOHOO!!

We sincerely appreciate EVERY single donation made for Stretch, Ripley and Sherwood

EDGAR

As everyone knows Castaway Critters Pet Rescue, Inc (CCPR) is closed for intake because we are bursting at the seams with cats, dogs, kittens and puppies.  As soon as we have a few more adoptions or are able to transport some of our babies to a Northeast rescue we will be able to reopen our intake area.

In the meantime a very good friend to CCPR has asked us to help with a sweet lab mix in Robeson Co NC.  Since we did not have room to pull him ourselves a rescue was found for #48655, or as we call him,  Edgar, in NY. We were told Edgar was already gone when we called this morning :(:( However, a person on the ground in NC called and found out EDGAR IS ALIVE!   We need to get Mr Edgar out of Robeson asap so he is not accidentally put down by heartstick.  Edgar is a bit shy but he is kindly asking everyone if they could help him out just a bit. He needs $250 for quarantine boarding, vetting, neuter and HW test.  He also needs about $100-$125 for transport to his NY rescue.

We truly appreciate every single donation sent for Edgar and he does too.  All donations made to CCPR are 100% tax deductible  THANK-YOU!
