Rainbow's Big Adventure!

When Jeffrey adopted a kitten named Cosmo four years ago, he found his hand-raised kitten was the best cat he had ever known! Cosmo became the ultimate companion for him. When Jeffrey recently decided to get married, it seemed like the perfect time to adopt a new kitten as a playmate for Cosmo and his kitty friend Joy.

Jeffrey tried to contact the rescue in Oregon he adopted Cosmo from and was told that the person who hand-raised Cosmo had moved. Determined to find her, he tracked her down in Georgia. While no longer doing her own rescue, she had become an active foster mom for Castaway kittens. When Jeffrey expressed interest in a 'special' kitten, it just so happened this foster mom had one of the most adorable and perfect love-sponges she had ever raised!

Rainbow had been featured in our CCPR newsletter earlier this year as the kitten that had been spotted by a school bus driver and was thought to have been spray painted. While it turned out he was dyed with non-toxic dyes, he was rescued and brought to his foster home at only 5 weeks of age. Rainbow was a standout right from the get-go! Extremely loving and affectionate, totally without fear and trusting, playful and energetic - he was the ONE!

Jeffrey is now living in California, but trusting his instincts that he would not find any kitten more suitable, he sent his adoption fee and made his travel plans. As Rainbow was given time to grow, to have his vaccinations and be neutered, Jeffrey enjoyed pictures and videos sent by the foster mom. On October 3rd, Jeffrey flew into Atlanta to meet his new kitten for the first time and flew back to California the same day. It was a long and stressful day for both of them but Rainbow is now in his new and wonderful home with his adopted family, Jeffrey and Danielle, Cosmo and Joy. Was he worth it? You BET!
